Mark spent four years as a commissioned officer in the British Army before joining the family company in 1998 as a buyer. He went on to become Procurement Manager and Procurement Director, managing all our procurement work, both in the UK and in our network of overseas offices. In that time, he has won and delivered multi-million dollar contracts for overseas governments. In 2005, Mark was appointed Operations Director for the whole group. Since then, he has overseen and developed the Group’s commercial activities, including the launching of new businesses and integration of those we’ve acquired. Mark became Chairman of the Group in 2016 in succession of his late father, John Kendall.

Martyn joined Charles Kendall in 2005 as Group Finance Director, bringing with him 30 years of substantial international commercial and operational experience. With a degree in Biochemical Engineering, he qualified as a chartered accountant in 1982 and in 1988, he became the youngest partner in Anderson and Binder Hamlyn, before spending six years as Finance Director for a fully listed international food company. In recent years, Martyn has introduced cost saving measures for the group, and has been pivotal in the negotiation of a number of recent acquisitions and in the establishment of new business ventures.

With over 25 years’ experience in international procurement and project management, Terry is responsible for business development and marketing and has identified, bid and negotiated long-term high-value contracts in the Development Aid sector worldwide. Donors include World Bank, EU, UK Government (DFID), EBRD, EIB, Sida, Danida, Australian Aid and USA MCC. His experience includes managing large, complex programmes where technical procurement assistance, capacity building, and training are key, as well as procurement and consulting projects in Africa, Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Australasia and the Pacific. Terry is currently backstopping support Director for a number of major development aid programmes, including the MCC Ghana ($498 million) and MCC Senegal ($540 million) programmes and the Australia Aid programmes worldwide. Terry is a Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS).

Scott has extensive experience delivering governance, public financial management, public procurement, value chain, and capacity building programmes in countries across the globe. He has successfully delivered consultancy services and programme leadership on behalf of multilateral and bilateral donor organisations as varied as the UK Department for International Development (DfID), The US Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), The Government of Japan (JICA), the World Bank, the Danish Agency for International Development (DANIDA) and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in over 20 countries and holds extensive knowledge of international public procurement laws and regulations. He has developed multiple procurement and contractual policy frameworks, procedures, manuals, and suites of contracting documentation, and has designed and implemented multiple procurement and contract audit frameworks. Scott holds a Master’s degree in Public Procurement Law (LLM) from the University of Nottingham, and is a Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS).

With over 20 years of industry experience Murray joined Charles Kendall Freight in 1999 and is responsible for CKF’s Operations by ocean, air and road. During more than 15 years of management time within the Group, he has overseen both the growth and the diversification of our product offering in all markets. A consolidation and project specialist, Murray has been instrumental in delivering ‘best in class’ solutions to our diverse customer base. During his tenure Murray has gained valuable experience in the field in Europe, Asia & North America. In 2019, Murray was appointed Managing Director of Charles Kendall Freight and continues to take the company from strength to strength.

Keno started his career in Air and Sea Operations upon joining Charles Kendall in 2003. He has successfully built, developed and continues to maintain significant sales growth in the Far East. Keno enjoys coordinating our extensive network of partners at a variety of international conferences and having overseen the transformation of our early representative offices into fully operational branches; Charles Kendall Freight in Hong Kong continues to prosper. In 2013 he was awarded the Young Achiever Award of Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transportation (CILT) in Hong Kong and was “Highly commended” in the International Young Achiever of the Year 2014 organised by CILT International. Keno is the youngest Director in Freight’s history.

Peter is a senior finance professional with over 15 years’ experience. In this time, he has worked with account management and procurement teams, operations and IT development across different industries. Proficient in financial operations, international trade, leading working capital and cash flow management, developing management information systems and reporting, financial control, audit and statutory accounts; Peter is a member of the ACCA (Institute of Certified Accountants).

With over 30 years’ experience in the export packing industry, Darren has an in-depth knowledge of both case making and packing. Qualified in packing and the carriage of dangerous goods by air and sea, Darren was responsible for establishing the company’s quality assurance programme and has overseen the expansion of packing capabilities in Manchester and Southampton servicing multiple industry sectors across the length and breadth of the country.

Miles has over fifteen years’ experience within the export packing and freight forwarding industries. He helps contribute to the provision of a cost effective solution for clients in both Packing and Freight tailoring requirements to their specific needs whilst also concentrating on growing international opportunities.

Having worked extensively in the Gulf since 2008, Matthew now runs our Private Client Services department where he and his team focus on looking after the Charles Kendall Group's long-standing client relationships. With over 40 years combined experience, Private Client Services understand the importance of "soft-diplomacy" and the value of the deep-rooted friendship they hold with their clients. This enables the team to offer the appropriate support, advice and seamless quality of service in both London and our other European locations.

Ian joined Charles Kendall Freight in August 2003 with 33 years of experience in the freight industry. With experience in road, air and sea freight, he is responsible for ensuring we abide by the relevant legal standards and adhere to internal and external policies, as well as maintaining and overseeing the use of Customs approvals held by the company. In addition to providing oversight for our operations teams, Ian provides external customer support from guidance and advice to bespoke training programs.

Mike is the HR Manager to the Group and joined Charles Kendall in 2017. With his team, he is responsible for all HR services across the Group. This covers the employee life-cycle, from recruitment through training and development, to succession planning. With over 25 years experience in Human Resources, Mike is fully CIPD qualified and has worked across a range of industries and sectors throughout his career.
