The UK Plastic Packaging Tax is almost here
Shippers should make sure they are prepared for a new Plastic Packaging Tax ahead of its introduction on 1st April.
The new rules mean that any manufacturer or importer of more than 10 tonnes of plastic packaging components per year in the UK will need to register and submit a return to HMRC every quarter.
The tax will be charged at £200 per tonne. There are exemptions for certain types of packaging, including that with a recycled content of 30% or more.
