Supporting Development in Timor-Leste
Supporting Development in Timor-Leste
Since 2011, Charles Kendall has supported the Government of Timor-Leste redevelop its post-conflict infrastructure through targeted investment in transportation, education and health systems and governance frameworks.
As an Independent Procurement Agent for the Timor-Leste Infrastructure Fund we facilitated projects with a total value of over $716m intended to realise the Millennium Development Goals. Our work supported the rehabilitation of a national airport, construction of new parliament, development of a new multi-purpose port and support to the last phase of the National Connectivity Project to enhance Timor-Leste’s ICT Infrastructure.
In 2013, Charles Kendall was also appointed to manage the Government of Australia’s Procurement and Logistics Support Facility in Timor Leste. Through this mechanism we currently manage 50% of Australia’s Timor-Leste aid budget, providing procurement, logistics, recruitment and capacity building services in sectors as wide varied as health, education, rural development and governance.
